Niam strengthens its position in the Nordic logistics market

Niam has signed an agreement with Wästbygg Gruppen’s subsidiary Logistic Contractor to acquire a logistics property currently under construction north of Gardermoen in Oslo, Norway. The property, comprising approximately 64,000 sqm, is fully leased to installation distributor Ahlsell on a fifteen-year lease, establishing its new central warehouse in Norway. Completion of the facility is planned for summer 2025.

The site in Eidsvoll, north of Oslo, covers 266,000 sqm, with the 64,000 sqm facility offering an additional development potential of 20,000 sqm. Its location provides strategic advantages, with close access to the European highway, railway station, and airport. The project has a strong ESG profile, and the building will be environmentally certified according to BREEAM-NOR 6.0 Very Good.

“The property is being developed by Logistic Contractor in close cooperation with Ahlsell, who hold ambitious sustainability goals for the new facility. A rooftop solar park will be installed, and geothermal heating has been chosen as the energy source. The new Ahlsell warehouse is expected to become the largest of its kind ever built in Norway, and we look forward to following the construction process,” says Morten Roland, Country Manager Norway at Niam.
